Ground (grilled) chicken burgers

Last week's post introduced the idea of ground chicken. Here is a great recipe using it!


All you need is :


1 lb of ground chicken


Your choice of seasonings


Buns


Colby Jack cheese slices

(or use your own fav cheese!)


Mayo, Pickles, or Chick-fil-A sauce (now found @ Walmart) or your own desired toppings.



Directions:


Open package. Roughly divide out the ground chicken into 4-5 equal portions.


Ground chicken is very moist and soft so it is super hard to patty them out into burgers on the counter or a cutting board and then try to pick them up with a spatula.


To combat this, I just portion the meat out into equal parts and patty them into burgers directly in my skillet.


I then season the patties with our favorite seasonings. ( I personally use garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Kent Rollins all purpose seasoning, and kinder roasted chicken seasoning.)


Cook them on medium heat. Don't flip them too much or they will not get a good sear.


This is one of those recipes where having a good meat thermometer comes in super handy! You definitely do not want to overcook these burgers or they will be dry. Cooking them until "just done" will lock in enough moisture to keep them full of flavor.

Once they reach 165 degrees F -

I top them with cheese and remove skillet from the stove burner while I ready the buns/toppings. The residual heat from the skillet will allow the cheese to sufficiently melt.


Assemble together and serve with veggie straws or veggie chips ( Or regular chips or fries even!)


Helpful tip:

If my husband isn't done with his shower by the time I get these ready, I will often wrap his assembled sandwiches in aluminum foil to lock in the heat and moisture. This will soften the bun and will give it more of a Chick-fil-A or a fast food style bun. Another option is to butter the buns and toast them in a skillet before adding the toppings!

 

This can be a quick, easy, and surprisingly, tasty meal for a busy weeknight! To me, these ground chicken burgers remind me of a super good, grilled chicken sandwich.

These look so yummy can’t wait to try! Speaking of unique ground meat … I thought of this . so we went to a “international market” yesterday for the first time in OH “jungle Jim’s” such a neat place! Anyways, they had an entire freezer isle of “ground” meat…. Ground camel, ground Boar, ground ostrich, you name it 😂😝… def not a money saver here tho, the camel was $25 a lb lol
