Isn’t that sunrise a beautiful sight? If you ask my husband, you will learn that I love to see sunrises (and sunsets). I’ve been known to actually squeal with excitement and grab a camera to catch a glimpse of a pink, orange, blue and purple horizon. I honestly can’t say why. I am just in awe of the majestic colors spread across the sky like a Master painter just finished a masterpiece. Many crisp early mornings, my husband and I have sat on the side of a lake at daybreak. There is something almost spiritual about seeing the first rays of sunlight start to pierce through the dark of the night. I have been mesmerized by the awesome splendor of something so simple yet so beautiful...and each time, I reflect on a certain special part of God’s Word...
Several years back, I was reading my devotions and I came across Lamentations 3:22-23 and for some reason, it just spoke to me deep in my soul. Maybe it was the season of life I was in at that exact moment or maybe it was something much more meaningful, but I felt such a visceral reaction to that verse. I read and reread it... I studied it, pondered it, mediated on it, even testified in church on it... it has became one of my dearest, closest to my heart verses!
I know I have benefited greatly from that renewing mercy in my life - if I was only allotted a set amount of mercy to use, I'm sure I would have ran out of my mercy in just a short time and been destitute and empty forever more, but thanks be to God that He knew that we needed to have unlimited amount of mercy. 🙌🏻
For you see, our seemingly worst day is just that--a day! When we get up in the morning, there is a replenished full tank of mercy!! God, in His great love and wisdom, knew we were just humans and even trying as hard as we may, we are still going to make mistakes and fail at times. So He made sure to let us know each morning is a fresh start and a new beginning. You don’t like how yesterday went? Well, that’s fine- because He promised us He would give us a clean slate each day.
Who knows ? Maybe He put that in there especially just for us Moms...He knows sometimes we may even need a little
“extra” ...😉
So take heart dear sister, and take a deep breath, give yourself some grace, and know that you are doing an amazing job that God knew He could trust you to do. You got this!
And the next time you happen to catch a sunrise, admire and appreciate the splendor of our Creator’s workmanship and thank the Lord for his new mercies!!
