So today marks the ending of yet another year. 2021 is coming to a close; 2022 looms on the horizon. We haven't the slightest clue what the future holds for any of us. Our lives can be drastically changed so quickly (for both the good and also for the bad.)
That kind of thing is out of our control. But there are some things that we can do to make sure we make the most of the time that we’ve been given.
We should live life to the fullest. or LIVE with no regrets:
What’s that old saying? “Live with no regrets.” Shouldn’t we all strive to live that way?
Don’t wait until it’s too late to forgive. Don’t wait until it’s too late to say I love you. Don’t wait until it’s too late to say I’m sorry. Don’t wait until it’s too late to do what God has told you to do. We must live each day as if it could be our last.
We must make sure to keep our eyes on the goal—Making heaven our home! There is nothing in this world that is worth missing out on that!
We must love without conditions:
If we will have the love of Christ, we too must love others as Christ has loved us. Our love should never be conditional but we should strive to see others as God sees them. No, I’m not saying we should compromise or go around condoning people’s sin, but how many times has God’s love been shown to us even when we didn’t deserve it. Sometimes it’s the love of God (shown through us) that draws people and woos them back to Him. We can hate the sin, but we must always love the Sinner. Christ died for us all— The Bible tells us—there are none righteous, no, not one! We all need HIS blood for redemption. None of us were pardoned by our own merit! We all had to come by the way of the Cross!!
If we want to work for the Lord and to further the kingdom of Heaven, the time to do that is right now! We are living in the last days. We have no clue what the future might bring but we know there is coming an end to this old world. NOW is the time to get serious with God. The most common New Year’s resolution in our churches is “I want to get closer to God in this upcoming year.” All of us have said it over the years. Yet, how many of us really do anything to actively pursue and accomplish that goal? You know the old saying if you do the same old thing over and over, don’t expect different results. Unless we are actively pursuing after our goal of becoming more spiritually minded, we will never achieve it. I challenge you… no, no, US!…To become more proactive in really achieving that goal in this upcoming year.
Get out of your comfort zone
We all are guilty of getting “at ease in Zion”. We get comfortable with our little routines and our little circle of people. None of us like to feel uncomfortable or to be put in situations that challenge us or prod us to climb higher. But in order to truly grow and flourish, many times, God will, in fact, stir up our proverbial nests. What may seem to be a trial may end up being a disguised blessing if we will allow God to use it as an opportunity to make us better. Which leads me to the next one:
Take advantage of every opportunity
Don’t be afraid to try! It’s better to try and fail at some things than to never try at all. You may be surprised at all the opportunities that God will open up around you if you will take the time to look for them. Each person’s opportunities may look different. Everyone has different talents. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. Just because what I’m good at isn’t what you’re good at or what you’re good at isn’t what I’m good at doesn’t make any of those things any lesser. We are all part of the same body of Christ. All members of one body fitly joined together for one good work!
Let’s take 2022 by storm! Let’s start by taking back prayer in our homes! Let’s allow God to stir a fire down inside our hearts that will ignite a revival in our hearts, our homes, and our churches. Time is running out… we need to get busy about the Father’s business!!
From my heart to yours,
-Tiphanie
