BBQ Boneless Country style Ribs

Updated: Aug 31, 2021

These are so yummy!!

8 -country style boneless pork ribs

(the cheap kind—usually found right around boneless pork chops in grocery store)

1 1/2 cups apple juice (or chicken broth)

BBQ dry rub (use your favorite— I like to use a combination of spices to make my own)

1 - 8 oz bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce

2 - tablespoon honey

1/2 - cup brown sugar

Foil

salt

water

First , I take my boneless skinless country style ribs and I put them in a salt brine bath for 15 min— (I don’t really measure salt- just pour it in there until it covers bottom of casserole dish I’m using to brine—I use a fork to stir salt into the water to dissolve... add boneless ribs-

set timer for 15 minute (don’t worry! it won’t make your pork too salty— it just tenderizes it)

after 15 min, remove and pat dry with paper towels and once dry, coat with a dry rub of your choice. If you don't have a premade dry rub, just use a good seasoning that your family enjoys like I do. (mine is a mixture of Kent Rollins original seasoning, Kent Rollins Mesquite seasoning, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt)

Rub a good amount on each of the ribs.

I just sprinkle it all over the ribs and then rub it in. Flip over the ribs and do the same on the other side.

Take a broiler pan (Walmart has a good bacon pan with a rack that works really well) and fill the bottom section of the broiler pan about half full of apple juice (about 1 1/2 cups on my pan - maybe more or less depending on size of your pan).

On the top section (the part with the slits or the rack if you are using a bacon pan) lay out the ribs. Sprinkle on a bit of brown sugar on each one....You can add a little sauce or save it for the end. Cover the pan with foil and fold edges under to seal in the steam as they cook.

Place in a 300 degree oven for 2 ½ to 3 hours. DO NOT OPEN THE FOIL UNTIL THE TIME IS UP. Remove foil carefully as the steam will be hot.

All the grease should be down in the bottom of the pan with the apple juice (or broth) now and the ribs will be completely cooked and tender.

All you need to do is finish them up on the grill or under the oven broiler with the barbecue sauce mixture.

In a separate bowl, add the honey and brown sugar to the barbecue sauce. Mix well and slather all over the ribs with a basting brush.

You can either place ribs on the grill and coat with the mixture (or your favorite sauce) or finish them up under your oven’s broiler. If grilling, grill ribs on each side just a few minutes until crispy.

For broiler, dump out about 3/4 of the liquid in the bottom of the broiler pan. Brush on the barbecue sauce on the ribs and broil for a few minutes on each side.

Watch closely because the sugar in the BBQ sauce will burn quickly. Remove from oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving...Enjoy!!
